The Monmouth County Library is proud to once again participate in the One Book, One Community program! This year, our activities will center on Kenneth Grahame's classic, The Wind in the Willows.
The One Book, One Community program is designed to unite the Monmouth County community through discussion, literacy, education, and local arts events all centered around one book. Eight Monmouth County Library branches will be holding children's story and craft programs centered on the book, beginning in November.
This year, One Book, One Community will take place throughout Monmouth County beginning this November through Dec. 30. The Two River Theater in Red Bank will host a kick-off for One Book, One Community on Sunday, Nov. 18 from 10 a.m. to noon.
As in the past, the Two River Theater will be hosting a performance based on the book chosen for the program. A family musical, A Wind in the Willows Christmas, will be performed at the theater from Dec. 8 through Dec. 30. Participants at Library-sponsored programs will be eligible to win tickets to the Two River Theater Company's production of A Wind in the Willows Christmas.
Participating Library branches include: Eastern Branch Library in Shrewsbury, Library Headquarters in Manalapan, Howell Township Library, Wall Township Library, Ocean Township Library, Hazlet Township Library, Atlantic Highlands Library, and West Long Branch Library.
