Due to the success of its inaugural Computer Skills for Job Hunters program in July, the Career Information Center at the Eastern Branch Library in Shrewsbury will repeat the series of 10 classes beginning August 4.
These classes are designed to introduce job hunters to computer skills and online job search resources. Each class begins at 2:30 PM and runs for one hour. The programs are free, but registration is required.
The Eastern Branch Library is located at 1001 Route 35 in Shrewsbury 07702. Please call 1-866-941-8188 to register for the classes. Register for any one class or for all 10, according to your needs.

Monday, August 4: What's a Mouse?
Pointing, clicking and dragging a mouse. For Beginning computer users.
Tuesday, August 5: Email Essentials
When applying for a job online you must have an email account. Set-up an account, send attachments such as your resume and learn the how to write a proper message.
Wednesday, August 6: Writing a resume with Microsoft Word 2010
*Please bring a USB flash drive to save your work and a rough draft of your resume*
Thursday, August 7: Introduction to Job Searching with www.indeed.com
This course will introduce you to online job searches.
Friday, August 8: Exploring Careers with Occupational Outlook Handbook and CareerInfoNet.
The Occupational Outlook Handbook www.bls.gov/ooh describes jobs, necessary training, job outlook and salary. CareerInfoNet www.careerinfonet.org offers this information on county andstate level.
Monday, August 11: My Next Move www.mynextmove.org
A combination job website that includes Career Choice options, job listings, and a business directory.
Tuesday, August 12: ReferenceUSA
A business directory that can help you find potential employers. Search by location, industry or size.
Wednesday, August 13: Jobs4Jersey The Job Search Tool of the NJ Department of Labor
At www.jobs4jersey.com you can write a resume and search for jobs.
Thursday, August 14: Job & Career Accelerator sponsored by the New Jersey State Library
Use the Resume Maker to write and store different resumes for different types of jobs. The site http://www.jca.learnatest.com/ will guide you through the resume writing process and allow you to save resumes in Word, PDF or Text file formats.
Friday, August 15: Introduction To Linkedin
www.linkedin.com lets you create an online presence to facilitate employers or recruiters contacting you. Also learn how to network at companies you have targeted and join interest groups to grow your professional social network.
