It's summer at the Monmouth County Library and that means tons of new programs just for teens! This summer, join us for a dozen events for teens in grades 6 and up. You'll get a chance to try your hand at drawing and painting, to create dreamcatchers and monster dolls, to program a robot and to silk screen your own design onto a T-shirt.
Most programs are offered at multiple Monmouth County Library branches. All programs are for teens in grades 6 and up. Please register for each event by calling or visiting the Library branch where you will attend the program. Registration is a must! For more information click on our Teens page.

Dreamcatchers for Teens
Native Americans of the Great Plains believe the air is filled with both good and bad dreams, and fashioned dreamcatchers to catch the good one. Join us as we construct dreamcatchers to help evoke only the sweetest dreams.

Intro to Acrylic Painting
Come join us for an exciting & intuitive hands-on class for teens with any level of experience. Artists from the Sumei Multidisciplinary Arts Center will introduce teens to the fundamentals of painting through mixing colors and applying paints. Don't forget to wear old clothes that you won't mind getting paint on.

Silk Screen T-Shirts
Design colorful t-shirts. Your designs will be turned into stencils and attached to the silk screens, which will then be transferred to your shirts. Bring your own 100 percent cotton T-shirt.

Intro to Robotics Workshop
Learn how to make a robot follow your commands. Program a robot to complete a maze competition. Teens must be able to stay the full duration of the program.

Monster Dolls
Create a weird beast with demin! This crafty program is not for the faint of heart and you must be able to independently hand sew. See how you can take denim to a whole other level in this sewing program.
Bring your lunch/dinner to this all day program! Hand sewing experience is required for this program. No sewing lessons given.
